Shatta Wale Sets Record; He’s The First Ghanaian Artiste To Win An NAACP Image Award


Beyonce’s “Lion King, The Gift Album” featuring Shatta Wale has won Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation Album at the 51stNAACP IMAGE AWARDS 2020.

American most popular and Grammy awards winner Beyonce Knowles won seven(7) awards at the 51st NAACP IMAGE AWARDS including the gift album ‘The Lion King’ Outstanding Soundtrack/ Compilation Album which includes many artiste and Ghana very own African dancehall King Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr.

Beyoncé was emerged as the ultimate winner for the hard work and her role in helping the industry to reach this far, Beyoncé also dedicated this award to all the artistes on the Gift Album and most definitely to the African Dancehall Ruler, Shatta Wale for their “Already” song being most streamed song on the album.

The ‘Beyoncé, Shatta Wale, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and others – The Lion King: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’ won the Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation over Terence Blanchard – Harriet (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), Various artists – Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack, Beyoncé & Various artists – The Lion King: The Gift, Michael Abels – Us (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
