I didn’t know alot about copyright infringement until my song with Stonebwoy was taken down, I won’t “steal” lyrics again – Mr Drew

Ghanaian dope and and sensational singer signed on to the Highly Spiritual Music Label, known as Mr Drew, who has been in the news for the negative reasons few days ago, after his song featuring Stonebwoy was taken down by YouTube for Copyright infringement, has finally opened up more and what really happened.

The said song which was taken down by YouTube was titled ‘Eat’, and was uploaded on YouTube after the release of the official video, which had over 150,000 views before it was taken down abruptly, after a fan from Ghana of the artiste in USA known as Rotimi, whose song was used as a cover, reported the issue to him online, for an action to be taken against Mr Drew and his team.

In an exclusive one on one Interview with Mr Drew whose song was taken down, hosted by Lerny Lomoteyin during a break on his live Performance with Lalafio Online Streaming app, he made it known, it was a mistake from his camp, not to have done a thorough checks to communicate with the other artiste team, on the said song he wanted to do his rendition on it, without contacting the owner.

“I didn’t know a lot about Copyright infringement until my new song with Stonebwoy was taken down. I have apologized on other media platforms to Stonebwoy, and my fans for what happened”, he said.

According to him, after the release of his song “Dwe”, he wanted to drop a new vibe of song for his fans to enjoy during the lockdown, that’s why he decided to do his version on Rotimi Song, but didn’t know it was against copyright policies.
