GPRTU to reduce “Trotro”fare?

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been a very good leader since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus way back in April. He has tried his possible best to eradicate and contain the dreadful corona virus pandemic with the help of health experts and and frontliners.

On his First Nation address on measures that is being taken place to eradicate the coronavirus pandemic. He closed down Schools with immediate effect, Churches and Mosques was also closed down and all kind of Public gatherings. He then initiated a partial lockdown as part of the measures.

President Akufo-Addo will has been a great father to the country in this abnormal era of pandemic crisis. He has taken his time to eradicate the COVID virus as he is gradually lifting some of the restrictions he issued which affected the normal way of living.

Tonight on his 14th Nation Address on the measures taken against spread of Coronavirus,he has finally lifted the major restrictions which was on, Churches,Drinking Spots,Tourist Sites,Mosques and the Capacity a bus (trotro) can load his/her passengers.

With the various number of passengers a bus can load according to its seat, it was reduced over 2/3 based on that particular bus number of seats.This made The Ghana Private Transport Union (GPRTU) raised the fares of transportation fee due to the variation of their daily earnings with the reduction of passsengers.

Obviously,from tomorrow onwards the Transport Union must reduce the fares once again to its normal prices but it depends on the fuel prices to also reduce to avoid any hard feelings by citizens.
