We are heading towards the upcoming elections which will be held on December 7th and the Electoral Commission responsible for the 2020 polls, Political Party, and the nation at large is preparing towards it.
However, angry Paramount Chief of the Hemang Traditional Area, Nana Wiafe Ababio Apau has vowed to prevent the people of Hemang from voting in the upcoming general elections.
According to the paramount Chief Of Hemang, the government of Ghana led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s representatives to his district is one one the reasons he will not allow his people to vote, adding that removing the individual is the only way to appease him.
The Chief also recalled a painful rejection from the ruling party as he had plans in setting up a hospital for his people when some leading members of the NDC visited his palace.
According to him, his community lack hospital and as a result, people die even from diseases that could have been managed if they had a health facility and if pregnant women in his community are in labour at night, there’s no emergency hospital to attend to them.
He however decided to set up a hospital for his people since the government have refuse to do so, he wrote a proposal to the Assembly on making available of an abandoned ICT center so they could start the hospital while he funds the building and according to him, he proposal was rejected with claims that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was interested in ICT so the building could not be given to him to convert it into a hospital.
According to him as it stands the abandoned ICT center is still there without any sign of completing it while the community still remains with no hospital because it will take time to put resources together to build an entirely new building for a hospital.
He said the painful part of it was that he had partners who were willing to provide him with machinery to set up a hospital where his people could seek healthcare.
Concluding his speech, he said “ if the NPP come here and they do not dismiss the person, I will not let the people in my community vote.”
