Ghanaian actor and movie producer, Prince David Osei has revealed that his life has come under threat following his comment about the flagbearer of the opposition NDC, John Dramani Mahama candidature ahead of the 2020 general elections.
Speaking in an earlier interview monitored by ABC News, Prince David Osei questioned if the NDC had no competent candidates to represent the party for the upcoming December 7 elections aside former President Mahama.
Explaining his reasons for saying that, Prince David Osei said former President Mahama was actively involved in the eight-year administration of the NDC-led government as a Vice President and subsequently a President, so coming back to stand on the ticket of the party again “makes me wonder if there are no eligible people in the NDC.”
Following this comment, the actor has revealed some party members of the NDC have descended on him issuing threats on his life. According to him, he cannot fathom why such attacks and threats are being directed to him in total disregard for freedom of speech and expression.
In a social media post sighted by ABC News, Prince Osei noted that “to my brothers in the NDC who do not agree with me on my view on issues, it is alright not to agree, you at liberty not to agree or accept everything I say. However if you attack me will defend myself with all I have, the past few days I have endured enough of your threats, insults and attacks.”
Given this, he therefore cautioned that he will defend himself in anyway possible which might shock his attackers.
