Flag bearer and leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Dramani Mahama has humbly pleaded on the New Patriotic Party(NPP) administration led by Nana Addo to quite giving Ghanaians free things and invest it in the real sectors of the economy to help creat jobs for the youth to minimize the rate of jobless youths in the country.
Speaking during an interaction with members of the Association of Road Contractors, former president, Mahama stated that the government of Ghana led by Nana Addo is prioritizing consumption in the country and no government develops prioritizing consumption.
Mr. Mahama added that, all well developed country do not developed their country by giving its citizens free things but rather invest money in the productive sectors and the productive sectors created jobs for its citizens and the jobs created prosperity for the people.
“You have to invest money in the productive sectors and the productive sectors would create jobs and the jobs will create prosperity for the people. “But if you say everybody should stay at home and we will give you everything free, free; free this, free that. All the countries that have developed, they didn’t develop like that.” John Mahama said
As it stands Ghanaians have been enjoying free water and electricity for the past 5 months now and we are expected to enjoy it for 6 months following plans by the government to extend the free electricity and water relief packages that ended in May.
