Ghana is still mourning the death of the Founder Of The National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the first president of the first Republic Of Ghana, His Excellency Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.
Even though the former military head and president is no more, it appears that his sense of humour will never be forgotten.
However after the demise of Rawlings, there have been controversies around him following the how the two main political parties – National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the New Patriotic Party(NPP) are handling his death.
Earlier, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga stated that, he is really disappointed in the family of their late leader for rushing to Nana Addo to inform him about the death of Rawlings instead of informing the leaders of the NDC party first as he reveal that the NDC May be forced to do their own funeral for their leader if Nana Addo is to lead the funeral.
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has also added his voice to it and according to him, the NPP led by Nana Addo are trying their very best to steal Late Jerry John Rawlings’s death from his own founded political party members.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Citi FM after their visit to their late founder’s house, Mr. Asiedu Netia stated that, Nana Addo in his official address to the nation about the sudden death of Rawlings did not even mentioned that, Rawlings is the Founder of NDC as he concluded that, if situation remains the same as it is now, then the NDC has no choice than to participate in the national funeral, but also organize their own for their Founding Father Late Jerry John Rawlings.
