On Wednesday, December 2nd 2020, social media was set on fire after a number of Ghanaian actors and actress stormed Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency to campaign for the ruling New Patriotic Party led by Nana Addo and the Member Of Parliament for the constituency, Lydia Alhassan popularly know as Maa Lydia.
Actors and actress with the likes of Prince David Osei, Kalybos, Bismark the Joke, and Bibi Bright were the actors who stormed Ayawaso west Wagon Constituency To Campaign ‘Against’ John Dumelo and they immediately started trending massively on social media, apparently for having ‘betrayed’ their colleague John Dumelo by abandoning him and campaigning for his political rival.
A video also popped up this morning show the moment Kalybos was making fun of John Dumelo as he stood in front of his poster and said he should vote Nana Addo and Maa Lydia come December 7th.
However, following the backlash against them, including attacks from fellow actors and Ghanaians, Kalybos has taken to his social media platforms via Facebook to address the issue as he drop a beautiful photo of them having some good time together.
According to Kalybos, We are in a Democratic system and he has the right to choose who he wants to vote for regardless their relationship status as he stated that, he thinks it’s about time our school system start to teach us what democracy is and what opinions are. Indicating that Ghanaians do not understand the word Democracy even though we are enjoying democracy.
According to him, choosing to campaign for the NPP and Maa Lydia does not mean he is an enemy to John Dumelo and the NDC. “We’re all made individually to make different choices and that doesn’t mean an opinion of ‘A’ is an enemy to ‘B’.” Kalybos said .
He added that, himself and his colleague who campaigned for the NPP are still cool because he[John Dumelo] knows what democracy and friendship is.
He further hit hard on ‘hypocrite colleagues who never showed support for John Dumelo until they saw they hit the street to campaign for the NPP.
