We are barely left with 2 days to the much anticipated presidential and parliamentary elections following how the National Democratic Congress is desperate to come back to power after being defeated in last four year’s elections whiles the New Patriotic Party also trying their best to continue for a second term. This has really made this year’s elections a very tough one.
However, Teachers in Ho, in the Volta Region ahead this year’s election have send their last word to Nana Addo, telling him enough is enough!. According to them, this year, it will be a thumbs down for him as they are not voting the Nana Addo led government to power following their failure to fulfill their promises made to them leading to their massive support for him in 2016’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to them, during Nana Addo’s campaign on 2016 as a presidential candidate, he promised them of many things including the payment of the teachers legacy arrears of which he has failed to fulfill in almost four years as a president.
Speaking in a conference held yesterday, December 3rd. The chairperson of the event urged his colleague teachers to vote the Nana Addo led government out since his full of promise and fail.
Having said that, it could be recalled that, The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, hinted that teachers who have not received their legacy arrears will be paid by end of the year 2020.
He however said during the time of addressing the issue that, the government was not under obligation to provide teachers with legacy arrears but after due consideration, it resolved to pay what is due them.
Ah Well! Will their plans to vote agains Nana Addo affect them in any way?
