So it was reported in the late hours of yesterday, December 15th that parts of the Kantamanto market in Accra’s central business district has gutted by fire. The fire was said to have started around 10 pm according to an eyewitness who spoke to Citi News.
According to the eyewitness who spoke to Citi News, as at 10:20 pm, the fire had gone out of control and some people present at the scene rash to the nearby fire station to request help.
In as much as its unclear what may have caused the fire outbreak, it could be recalled that, a similar incident occurred last month with the Accra central brunch of the Ghana Commercial Bank when one of the bank’s offices was razed.
However, a screenshot circulating of all social media platforms suggest that, the sad incident which happened in Kantamanto yesterday was premeditated.
In the screenshot, a Facebook user with the user name as Daniel Tee passed a comment which suggest that, he has something to do with the fire outbreak in Kantamanto.
According to him in his comment, he made it Clare that himself and his people were going to burn down Kantamanto for a reason best known to themselves.
he wrote; “We are burning down Kantamanto tomorrow”
