It has come to my notice that the Staff of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) will proceed on break for the Christmas and New Year festivities from Wednesday, December 23,
According to a press sign by the deputy chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Bossman E Asare, the staff of the commission which is set to go on break tomorrow will resume in 27 days time, on January 19th, 2021.
“Following the successful and peaceful conduct of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, Management has decided that the commission will break for Christmas and new year on Wednesday, 23rd December, 2020 and resume duty on Tuesday, 19th January, 2021.
On behalf of the Electoral Commission,I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and a prosperous new year.” The press reads.
Meanwhile The Electoral Commission Of Ghana has successfully conducted 8 presidential and parliamentary elections in the Fourth Republic on December 7, 2020.
However, in this very 8th one, the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress(NDC) led by former president John Mahama has rejected the results, over reason of a rigged elections.
John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate is accusing the Chair of the Commission, Jean Mensa, of scheming to rig the elections for incumbent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
