Following the National Democratic Congress’s decision to petition and has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the result of this year’s presidential election, saying the incumbent Akufo-Addo’s win was illegal. A lot of news portals including the international news portals have added their voice to the ongoing brouhaha between the NDC and the Electoral Commission Of Ghana, EC.
Yesterday December 30th, the opposition party’s team marched to the Supreme Court Of Ghana to Petition the Court on this year’s elections over reason of a rigged elections. It’s said that, this case could be a catalyst for future polls.

Accruing To DW Africa, in as much as the NDC is seeking for an overturn of this year’s presidential elections, it happens that the structure of the Supreme Court may affect the aim of the NDC In Court.
It for a fact that, among the 17 justices in the Supreme Court, 10 of them were appointed by the incumbent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo making the DW Africa quiz Ghanaians on how the case will go for the NDC since Nana Addo appointed majority of the Supreme Court justices.
In a posts signed, The DW Africa wrote; “ Nana Akufo-Addo did not win Ghana’s 2020 presidential election. That’s what the country’s main opposition party insists. Supporters of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) led by former President John Mahama have been protesting the outcome of the December 7 vote for weeks now and today the NDC is expected to challenge it in the Supreme Court. Ten out of that court’s 17 justices were appointed by Akufo-Addo. How do you think the case will go for the opposition in the Supreme Court.” DW Africa quizzed.
