The just ended 2020 Election has been very dramatic and competitive with how both parties, The New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress have been matching each other boot for boot in the Parliamentary race as it ended up with the NPP with 137 seats likewise the NDC putting these Political giants in a tight corner.
The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, has boldly emphasized that the National Democratic Congress in Parliament shall be the majority in the 8th Parliament.
Although both the New Patriotic Party and the resistance National Democratic Congress have part the seats equitably with the Independent MP-Elect for Fomena breaking the tie, Haruna Iddrisu demands the NDC has the numbers to form the Majority.
The Tamale South MP addressed ahead of the present disintegration of Parliament.
He demanded the NDC won both Techiman South and Sefwi seats and should be made the majority by all means.
As indicated by him, that will be in light of a legitimate concern for “equity and harmony.”
He said: ““Specific to the matter of whether or not he should have mentioned persons who lost their lives during the recently ran election, you will find people with different views on it. That for me itself is not even such a big deal.”
He added that; “I’m not sure that the President not specifically mentioning it takes away from the record of what has happened in times past.”
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress has chosen Alban Bagbin as the potential Speaker of Parliament ahead of the 7th Parliament being dissolved. The NDC still insist that, they have the majority in Parliament and so therefore they are to select the Speaker in Parliament whiles the NPP to claim they are having the majority in Parliament afte the Formena Independent candidate vowed to join his former Party once more.
