The former Member of Parliament for Nadowli Kaleo and a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has been elected as the Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
Mr. Bagbin, who was the Second Deputy Speaker in the 7th Parliament won the elections against his only contender, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) proposed Alban Bagbin as their choice candidate for the Speaker of Parliament while the New Patriotic Party (NPP) proposed Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye who served as Speaker for the 7th Parliament; 2017 to 2021.
The former Member of Parliament for Nadowli Kaleo constituency and a member of the National Democratic Congress, Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin has been elected as the Speaker of the eighth Parliament.
Mr. Bagbin, who was the Second Deputy Speaker in the past Parliament won the decision with 138 votes by the members of Parliament whiles his His opposition, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye obtained 136 votes putting Alban Bagbin in lead.
However, the despite media (UTV) Presenter cum Journalist has revealed a very big secret of Alban Bagbin that most people never knew about his personality. Many people might think that because he is a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, he will only take the views of the NDC in Parliament.
However, according to Afia Pokua Vim Lady, Alban Bagbin is a straightforward and decisive man who dislike being unfair regardless of being an NDC member.
Afia Pokua wrote; “Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin is not for any side o. Those who know him very well like me know that neither NDC nor NPP can’t control him. Both sides will smell pepper 🌶 2016 on my mind”
She simply meant Alban Bagbin is a man of his word and so therefore not even the National Democratic Congress (NDC) can control his decisions in the house.
