The wife of Juaboso’s Member of Parliament (MP), Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, allegedly filed a court case against Ablekuma West’s Member of Parliament(MP) Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for causing her mental-emotional trauma when she abused her husband in Parliament and went viral on social media.
It can be noted during the election of the Speaker of Parliament that the meeting between the two MPs caused quite a stir when Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful was seen comfortably sitting on Mr. Akando’s lap with her hands crossed. This was after she said her seat in Parliament had been taken by the Juaboso MP. The NDC MP was accused of “enjoyment” by some people on social media when Ursula sat on him.
In reality, Mr. Akandoh himself had said in an interview on Peace FM before his wife’s confirmed court suit and that she is demanding damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress, that he feels abused contrary to reports that he had enjoyed.
“Surely, I am Hon. When she sat on my lap, Ursula Owusu enjoyed me pretty much because I felt nothing for her,’ he said.
Mr. Akandoh then announced that his wife was offended by the actions of Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful and threatened legal action for sexual harassment.
