Let’s forget about Mike Ocquaye and the lost seats – Pius Enam Hadzie motivates aggrieved NPP members


Although this election has favored the New Patriotic Party (NPP) much their Party rival, The National Democratic Congress (NDC) after the Flag Bearer of the Party, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo came out victorious over the Presidential Polls.

Unfortunately, the New Patriotic Party lost over 37 seats in the just ended 2020 Election to their rival, NDC. This brought the members of Parliament between the two Parties to 137 to 137 putting the NPP in a tight corner for losing such greater number of seats in Parliament. This came as one of the greatest shock in the Party’s history.

Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has encouraged the ruling New Patriotic Party not to engage in blame games over their loss of Parliamentary seats and Mike Oquaye’s defeat.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has 137 seats in Parliamen as opposed to the Party’s 169 seats in 2012.

There have been a ton of clarifications for certain pundits accusing the NPP defeated MPs for the Party’s misfortune.

Some people have been debating on a daily that the defeated candidates were not serious, and being reluctant over President Akufo-Addo’s free Senior High School (SHS) policy and figuring it would do the magic for them to win seats in Parliament.

Adding to Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, the Deputy Information Minister encouraged the gathering to join hands together and leave their past behind them

He approached them to rather uphold President Akufo-Addo’s vision to build up the country and let bygones be bygones.

“We should realize that we have an administration thus we should join together. We should energize uphold behind President Nana Akufo-Addo and furthermore fortify our Party for the difficult task ahead,” he said.

Enough is enough, let’s stop the blame games and focus on moving Ghana forward by rectifying our mistakes leading to our unprecedented lost.
