The first president of the fourth Republic of Ghana and the Ghanaian head of state to rule for over a decade, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings who died at age 72 after a short illness has been buried today January 27th, 2021.
This follows a 4-day state burial which started Sunday, January 23rd will a requiem mass which was held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral at 2pm and later with a vigil at the Air Force Officers Mess in Accra.
Monday January 25th, and Tuesday January 26th was given as opportunity for all Ghanaians to pay their last respect to the Military Man Who added more juice to our Democracy we are enjoying now as a Democratic country.
Today being the last day of the 4-day State Burial ceremony happens to be the day the falling soldier will go home.
As a result dignitaries with the likes of the president of the Republic of Ghana, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Presidents and leader of Rawlings’ political party founded, John Dramani Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor have paid their last respect to the former head of State before going home today.
As It was announced during the service that the mortal remains of the former president would be laid to final rest at the military cemetery in Accra, Ghana, a cemetery built by former president and the leader of Rawlings’ political party founded, John Dramani, Ghana’s most politically incorrect artist, Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as Kwame A Plus have used this opportunity to hail John Mahama for a good work done.
According to A Plus in a Facebook post sighted, after the building of the Military Cemetery late Rawlings is being buried at now, Ghanaian including himself descended on him and also used it to Campaign agains him.
Little did Ghanaians know this same Cemetery will be useful for the state as he stated that Ghanaians owe the former president a lot for a good work done.
