Ghanaian comedian and actor, known for his role in TV3 Ghana’s sitcom Chorkor Trotro, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face have been on the news for quite some time now following some misunderstanding between him and his baby mama.
He has been on the news this week after a short time without being on the news and this time around is him and the Ghana police.
It all started after the salf acclaimed children’s president took to his social media handle via Instagram to rain insults and accused the Ghana Police Service for Physical assault.
According to him, he was in Kasoa having fun and got into a fight with some area boys of which he got beaten by the boys(the reason that led to the fight was not disclosed) so, in an attempt to run for his life, two of the said boys followed him with motorbike.
Angry Funny Face then returned with a gun, giving multiple warning shots in the sky to scare them away leading to a police case.
His arrest is what has caused a lot to drama on Social Media after footage of his arrest hit social media by eyewitness who took the video, and gave commentary on what was happening at the said moment.
Funny Face in the video was seen being dragged by the Ghana police like a thief who have been arrested by the police but resisting arrest. He was given dirty slaps according to eyewitness and he confirmed it himself.
Following the case, DSP Irene Oppong, Central Regional police PRO cleared the air on the incident on Peace FM with Sammy Kay and According to her, the comic actor resisted arrest after he was charge of unlawful firing of gun.
Funny Face in reaction to DSP Irene’s claim stated that, it was all lies and revealed in the video that, He wasn’t resisting arrest but he was rather asking that, the officers make him sit in his own car with a police officer to the station of which after beating him they agreed.
Funny Face shockingly added that, after the arrest and all the brouhaha, he finally found out that some items in his car including a 1000 United Stats Dollars were missing from his car, accusing the police of theft.
