Renowned and Former Blackstar and Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien has land himself in trouble as Ghanaians on social media are not happy with him to the extent of abusing him with insults for a comment made.
In the late hours of yesterday, March 1, 2021, the award wining Ghanaian footballer took to his official Instagram page to publicly declare his massive support for the LGBTQIA community in Ghana and many are not happy with it even thought he has his right to support what ever he wants.
Micheal Essien However asked that, Ghana should learn to support gender equality, hence the voice of the LGBT must also be heard.
“We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequality 🇬🇭🤝🏿“, he wrote.
This didn’t go down well with many Ghanaians as they express their disappointment and dissatisfaction to Essien’s comment about the LGBT as they compared him to other great players in Africa.
According to some social media users, colleagues of the football with the likes of Drogba, Eto’o, Adebayor and others are building hospitals, academy’s and other good things to support the growth of their county, Essien is also here supporting unhealthy things.
“Your mate like Drogba n co are giving their country hospitals,academy’s and better things to support the growth of their nations,you are there supporting this unhealthy things.God should forgive you.”
Having said that, The group some few weeks back opened up offices in the country which raised concerns in the country since the act is not accepted in the country.
Following the complains and dissatisfaction Ghanaians were voicing out, it eventually led to the closure of those office of which some celebrities were not in support of.
The LGBT are out there calling on Human Right Organizations to come to their aid fight for their right as a group of people in society.
