Award winning Ghanaian musician, Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu, known by his stage name Wanlov the Kubolor has send a message to his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo convening the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana amid the Independent day celebration.
It could be recalled that, after the inaugurationof the LGBTQ+ community office in Ghana, the Ghanaian musician according to counsellor, George Lutterodt stated on an unnamed radio station that he was present at the inauguration ceremony of the LGBT group office in Ghana and performed for them as well.
He however added that, the musician also revealed that he’s a spokesperson for the group.
In as much as many couldn’t think far in the said allegations leveled agains the musician, he however made it clear that he supports the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana as he stated in an interview on Peace FM Entertainment Review that, before Kwame Nkrumah gained independence for Ghana, most of the Ghanaian tribes were practicing it until 1860 when the “Whites” brought the gay laws.
Having said that, in a new video sights on his Facebook page, the musician addressed the issue of members of Parliament drafting and anti-LGBT bill in parliament.
According to Wanlov, in as much as Ghana is celebrating Independent, the only thing Ghana is Independent From is love and empathy hence the government of Ghana should decriminalize same s.ex intercourse in Ghana.
He however added that being a member of the LGBTQ+ in Ghana is not illegal.
