The family of 10-year-old Ishmael Mensah Abdallah, who was allegedly murdered by two teenagers at Kasoa in the Central region has announced they are very hopeful the body of Ishmael will be released to them today for burial.
According to the family’s spoke person Samed Akalilu, the family are doing everything they can to retrieve the corpse from the police so they can bury Ishmael in accordance to their Islamic rites and beliefs.
He added the family was hopeful the police will release the corpse to them after the court hearing, but per the police arrangement and procedures, there were delays in the paper works , however, per all indications they have received, they are very hopeful the police will give the family the body today to be buried.
Ishmael met his untimely death when he was allegedly killed by two Kasoa teenagers in aim of using some of his body parts for money rituals.
According to the teenagers, they were well motivated by a mallam they watched on television who promised to make them rich if they are able to provide some human body parts and the amount of GHC 5000.
In the court hearing, the two teenagers who have being remanded into police custody for two weeks also revealed that the mallam promised to take them to Benin and by the time they return, they will be billionaires. Reports indicates the said mallam has been arrested and will be arranged before court.
Ghanaians in reactions to the news has expressed their dissatisfaction of the various television stations that run money rituals advertisements on their platforms and urged the National Media Commission (NMC) to ban all those television stations.
