The entire Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region is in a state of mourning after a young female Immigration Officer was crash to death on her way to work.
The deceased officer, Hannah Nwolley hails from Asaasetre in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
According to reports, the late Hannah Nwolley bordered an Okada from Ellembelle to her duty post at Jomoro when she met her untimely death.
Her motor rider was on the main Jaway Wharf-Amlomatuope Highway when a speeding cargo truck swept them from the road after an overtaken failed.
The female Immigration officer died on the spot whilst the Okada rider survived with various degrees of injuries.
He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital whilst the lifeless body of Hannah Nwolley has been deposited at the Half Assini hospital mortuary for further investigations.
The incident happened on the evening of Monday, May 3, 2021.
The late Hannah Nwolley hails from Asaasetre but lives at Jayway wharf and works at Anlomatuope. Her colleague workers have been left in a state of surprise following the accident.
“We were with her when she dressed up for work. She bordered an okada and on their way, the cargo truck driver decided to overtake them. The cargo driver then hit them on the highway and killed Hannah on the spot. This is very sad news for us because Hannah is a young officer who is trying”. An eyewitness indicated.
In the meantime, the driver of the cargo truck has bolted and the Jomoro Police Command has mounted a search for his arrest.
The lifeless body of Hannah Nwolley could be seen lying in the middle of the road. Parts of her body have been mutilated with several onlookers expressing grief.
Most of the residents and her colleague immigration officers have been mourning the late Hannah Nwolley.
“This is so bad. She was very friendly to everyone here. She leaves to her post and comes home whenever she closes. The driver must be arrested and punished”. Some residents indicated.
